:  at  £79.00  each

A striking large sculptural ceramic vase with an unusual pierced botanical design, inscribed Cesar, Lanzarote, 2000 on the base. Standing an impressive 33 cm tall, this beautifully shaped piece features a softly speckled blue-grey surface, an elegant flared neck and a broad, flattened body. The most distinctive feature is the intricate trailing botanical design. The dark, leaf-shaped details are individually pierced through the ceramic rather than simply painted onto the surface, creating a wonderful interplay of light, shadow and negative space. Raised, intertwining stems give the design additional texture and movement. The vase has a distinctly sculptural quality, with an organic silhouette that works particularly well as a standalone decorative piece. Maker and date The base bears the hand-incised inscription 'Cesar, Lanzarote, 2000', suggesting a connection with Lanzarote in the Canary Islands and dating the piece to the year 2000. The individual maker has not been independently identified. Dimensions Height: 33 cm Width: 30 cm Depth: 8 cm Condition Good pre-owned condition with a couple of minor surface marks consistent with age and display. Please examine the photographs for details. A substantial and unusual piece of decorative studio pottery, ideal for a contemporary, Mediterranean-inspired or eclectic vintage interior. Please note that the pierced design makes this primarily a decorative vase rather than a watertight vessel for fresh flowers. Carefully packed for safe delivery.
