A lovely matching set of four vintage Tremar Pottery soup bowls, made in Cornwall, with a beautiful mottled olive-green glaze, distinctive dark striped decoration and wonderfully rustic little handles. Tremar Pottery was established in Cornwall in the early 1960s, taking its name from the village of Tremar near Liskeard. The pottery became particularly popular during the 1970s and 1980s, producing a wide range of distinctive stoneware for the home. Its earthy glazes, simple shapes and rustic designs captured the character of Cornish pottery during this period. These four bowls are a lovely example of that style, with their rich olive-green colouring, concentric rings inside and contrasting vertical stripes around the outside. Perfect for serving homemade soup on a chilly afternoon, they would look equally lovely displayed on open kitchen shelves in a country cottage or rustic kitchen. Measurements - Diameter: 13 cm, excluding handles - Height: 5.5 cm - Quantity: Four matching bowls Condition All four bowls are in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. They are unmarked, which is not unusual for Tremar Pottery. The glaze has the natural variations and character associated with this type of stoneware. A lovely surviving set of four pieces of Cornish pottery, full of warmth, character and vintage charm. Sold as a complete set of four and carefully packaged for safe delivery.
