:  at  £125.00  each

A superb large studio pottery vase by Gerry Grant of Fangfoss Pottery, Yorkshire. This is a particularly impressive example of Grant’s work, standing approximately 27cm (10.6") high with a substantial circumference of approximately 70cm. Beautifully hand-thrown, the vase has a wonderfully tactile rounded form with visible throwing lines and a soft cream glaze. Expressive painterly strokes of blue, grey and earthy brown sweep across the body and neck, giving the piece a distinctly individual, almost abstract quality. The base carries Gerry Grant’s impressed potter’s mark. Its generous scale makes this much more of a statement piece than the smaller domestic Fangfoss pottery commonly encountered. It would look fantastic displayed on its own as a piece of British studio ceramics.
