  • Large Vintage Murano Art Glass Flower Bowl | Iridescent Italian Centrepiece (40cm)

  • £68.00

:  at  £68.00  each

A spectacular large vintage Italian art glass bowl, measuring an impressive 40 cm across and formed as an open flower with deeply sculpted, overlapping petals. The glass has a beautiful soft opalescent / iridescent finish, shifting between creamy pearl, champagne and subtle rainbow tones as the light moves across it. Each petal is heavily ribbed and shaped, giving the bowl wonderful texture and movement. Most importantly, the original foil label is still present to the base, reading: “Lavorazione Arte Murano – Made in Italy” The term “Lavorazione Arte Murano” is associated with decorative Italian glass made in the Murano tradition. As the label does not identify an individual glassworks or designer, I am selling this as vintage Italian / Murano art glass rather than attributing it to a particular Murano maker. At approximately 40 cm across, this is a genuinely substantial piece. It would make a striking dining-table centrepiece, console bowl or display piece, and its pale colouring makes it surprisingly easy to place despite its dramatic form. The flower form is particularly effective when viewed from above, with the layered ribbed petals radiating from the centre and catching the light beautifully. MEASUREMENTS Approx. 40 cm wide Approx. 10 cm high CONDITION Vintage condition. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description. The original foil “Lavorazione Arte Murano – Made in Italy” label remains attached to the base. A fabulous piece of vintage Italian decorative glass – large, sculptural and wonderfully flamboyant without being overpowering.
