:  at  £45.00  each

A wonderfully bold vintage Dalian art glass vase, dating to around the 1960s and produced in China. This is a particularly striking example, with a glowing yellow and cream body rising into a vivid orange-red neck and flared rim. Around the lower body are free-flowing trails and splashes of blue, green, amber, red and dark brown/black glass, giving the vase an almost abstract landscape quality. Two applied clear glass scroll handles decorate the neck, adding another lovely handmade detail. Dalian glass is increasingly collected for its exuberant colour and distinctive hand-worked decoration. Pieces of this type are often referred to by collectors as Chinese “Snowflake” glass and have a wonderful Mid-Century aesthetic. Because the decoration was individually worked into the glass, the pattern travels continuously around the vase and changes dramatically depending on which way it is displayed. It looks particularly beautiful when illuminated by natural light. A fantastic statement piece for a Mid-Century, maximalist or contemporary interior, and an excellent addition to a collection of vintage art glass.
